Job Description
Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery RN Lead is responsible for overseeing the clinical care of patients during labor and delivery, ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained. This role involves supervising nursing staff and managing patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate nursing staff during night shifts in the labor and delivery unit.
- Ensure compliance with clinical protocols and hospital policies for maternal and fetal care.
- Monitor fetal well-being using advanced fetal monitoring techniques and interpret results.
- Provide direct patient care and support to mothers during labor and delivery.
- Mentor and supervise nursing staff, serving as a charge nurse and resource.
- Document clinical interventions and patient progress accurately.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid RN license with at least 5 years of labor and delivery experience.
- Demonstrate supervisory experience of a minimum of 2 years, including charge nurse roles.
- Possess current certifications: NRP, ALCS, BLS, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring within the last two years.
- Show strong leadership skills and ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work night shifts with flexible scheduling and no on-call duties.
