Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides comprehensive care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. They assess patient needs, implement care plans, and support families through education and emotional support to facilitate safe and positive birthing experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate the health status of laboring and postpartum patients using objective and subjective data.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Provide direct patient care during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages, including monitoring fetal and maternal well-being.
• Educate mothers on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and infant care techniques.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient conditions, interventions, and education in electronic medical records.
• Assist physicians with procedures and respond to emergency situations to ensure patient safety.
• Promote a safe, clean, and supportive environment within the Family Birthing Center.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado.
• Possess a minimum of an Associate’s Degree (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications, with ACLS preferred.
• Two years of clinical experience in labor and delivery or obstetrics.
• Demonstrate strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
