Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to mothers during labor, delivery, and postpartum. They assess patient needs, support clinical procedures, and ensure a safe, compassionate environment for women and their newborns.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough assessments of patients’ physical and emotional states throughout labor and delivery.
• Deliver competent clinical care supporting obstetric procedures, emergency interventions, and patient safety.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and patient progress.
• Exhibit professionalism by adhering to policies, pursuing professional development, and demonstrating clinical responsibility.
• Respond to patients and families with courtesy and empathy, promoting an environment focused on patient-centered care.
• Follow safety protocols, including universal precautions, patient identification, and safe transfer techniques during labor and postpartum care.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license and current BLS certification.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrate assessment skills with knowledge of all gestational stages.
• Show proficiency in clinical skills related to labor, delivery, and postpartum nursing.
• Possess strong documentation and communication skills.
• Experience or knowledge in obstetric and neonatal care is a plus.
