Job Summary:

The Medical Surgical Unit - Mount Sinai West is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment. The nurse will coordinate and deliver evidence-based nursing care, ensuring safety, comfort, and positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs and develop individualized plans of care utilizing the nursing process and evidence-based practices.
• Deliver safe, competent care by implementing clinical interventions, managing treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families on health management, transition of care, and disease prevention, fostering understanding and engagement.
• Perform hourly purposeful rounding, monitor high-risk medications and equipment, and communicate effectively to enhance patient experience.
• Document clinical care accurately in compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety protocols, and peer review activities to maintain high standards.

Qualifications:

• Valid NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience.
• BLS certification required; EPIC experience highly preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and team collaboration skills.
• Associate degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Ability to work a 12-hour shift with every other weekend and holiday schedule.
