Job Summary:

The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing laboratory testing, specimen collection, and data analysis to support patient diagnosis and care. They ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain high-quality laboratory operations.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate testing procedures and collaborate with medical staff to ensure accurate and timely results.
• Perform phlebotomy, therapeutic blood draws, and specimen collection for various tests, including arterial and capillary samples.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, document quality control activities, and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Review and interpret test results, ensuring accuracy and compliance with lab protocols; clarify any discrepancies with physicians.
• Assist in orientation and training of new laboratory staff, promoting best practices in safety and quality.
• Participate in on-call rotations, weekend shifts, and emergency testing needs, supporting laboratory coverage.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid ASCP, NCA, NEW, or equivalent certification/registration.
• Demonstrate proven phlebotomy experience and proficient specimen collection skills.
• Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
• Exhibit computer proficiency for communication and documentation purposes.
• Maintain knowledge of safety protocols, infection control, and laboratory standards.
• Have ability to perform EKGs and adhere to age-specific blood collection techniques.
