Job Summary:
Provides specialized occupational therapy services to patients by assessing their functional abilities and creating individualized treatment plans. Supervises supportive staff and collaborates with physicians to promote patient recovery and independence.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients' skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, social, and cognitive functions through formal and informal testing.
• Develop goal-oriented treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
• Submit and update treatment regimes as part of the physician-approved plan of care, including co-signing verbal orders when necessary.
• Design a schedule of treatment sessions tailored to patient needs and coordinate with family and clinical staff.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and intervention rationale.
• Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students according to regulatory and affiliate standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current Michigan/MI Occupational Therapist License.
• Possess active BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Have at least one year of relevant occupational therapy experience, primarily in acute care settings.
• Provide recent supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
• Demonstrate proficiency in assessment and treatment planning through a current skills checklist.
