Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), ensuring optimal outcomes through advanced clinical skills and compassionate patient interactions.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans based on clinical evaluations.
• Administer medications, including cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips, following established protocols.
• Perform procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, chest tube insertions, and NG/dobhoff tube placements.
• Monitor patient progress via EKG rhythm interpretation and troubleshoot complex systems including bipaps and high-flow oxygen.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure adherence to unit policies.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care needs, utilizing communication tools like AIDET.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with minimum two years of clinical experience in a critical or acute care setting.
• Proficiency in EKG rhythm interpretation, cardiac and insulin drips, and high-flow oxygen systems.
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis, wound vacs, and central line dressing changes preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
