Job Summary:

The Retail Pharmacist is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical services within a retail setting, ensuring medication accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance. They oversee the procurement, dispensing, and counseling related to medications, supporting optimal patient care and pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently according to physicians' prescriptions.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Direct and supervise pharmacy staff engaged in medication preparation, labeling, and packaging.
• Counsel patients on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage when applicable.
• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, medication inventory, and transactions using pharmacy systems.
• Enforce quality assurance procedures, security controls, and proper disposal of hazardous pharmaceuticals.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure to practice pharmacy in California.
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited college.
• Valid BLS certification.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local pharmaceutical laws and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
