Job Summary:
The Clinical Nurse in the CVICU is a registered professional providing advanced, patient-centered cardiac critical care. They deliver safe, evidence-based nursing interventions to critically ill patients, collaborating closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and evaluate patient conditions, applying critical thinking to develop and modify individualized care plans.
• Deliver comprehensive cardiac critical care by utilizing assessment, intervention skills, and evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care activities.
• Educate patients and families about their condition, treatment plans, and post-discharge care to promote health and recovery.
• Document all patient interactions and care accurately in compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety protocols, and process enhancements within the CVICU.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid NYS RN license and BLS certification.
• Have at least 2 years of RN experience, including 1 year in open heart and cardiac care units.
• Demonstrate EPIC electronic health record experience (highly preferred).
• Possess a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred); active matriculation in a BSN program or relevant experience may be considered.
• Maintain successful travel experience or relevant clinical experience, depending on the position type.
