Job Details

Job Summary:
Provide specialized patient care within the Adolescent Psych unit, caring for children and teenagers with various mental health conditions. Support treatment plans through attentive observation, medication management, and empathetic engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor patient behavior and symptoms, conducting rounds every 15 minutes.
• Assist with activities and therapeutic interventions to promote patient engagement.
• Support patients with medication management and basic healthcare needs, including phlebotomy and vital signs.
• Observe and document patient progress, reporting changes to nursing staff.
• Maintain a safe environment by following protocols for crisis prevention and intervention.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and participate in unit-specific orientation and training.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 1 year of experience in psychiatric nursing or pediatric clinical care.
• Hold current BLS and PCT certification.
• Demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong communication skills with children and adolescents.
• Be adaptable to float between various psychiatric units, including crisis and adult units.
• Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal physical restraint use.
