Job Details

Job Summary:
Provides assistance to the primary surgeon during surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient care through exposure, hemostasis, tissue management, and other technical functions. Works closely with the surgical team to maintain a sterile environment and facilitate successful outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring proper visualization of the operative field.
• Assist in controlling bleeding, harvesting grafts, and closing incisions.
• Verify availability and setup of surgical equipment and supplies according to the surgeon’s preferences.
• Maintain the sterile environment of the operating room, including draping and instrument management.
• Review patient medical records, diagnostic studies, and relevant documentation to support surgical planning.
• Perform pre- and post-operative tasks to support continuous patient care and safety.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification.
• Possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Have at least two years of recent experience in the surgical field.
• Demonstrate scrub experience and training as a surgical tech with first assistant skills.
• Maintain current licensure and certifications as required by state regulations.
