Job Summary: The Outpatient Services/PACU Nurse provides safe, efficient care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The role includes assessment, education, and discharge planning, ensuring optimal patient outcomes in outpatient, pre-op, post-op, PACU, and procedural sedation settings.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care by performing focused assessments and ongoing evaluations across diverse age groups.
• Monitor hemodynamic status, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond appropriately using ACLS and PALS protocols.
• Prepare patients for examinations or procedures, assist physicians, and ensure comfort and safety throughout the process.
• Document patient history, vital signs, treatments, responses, and changes in condition accurately and thoroughly.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, discharge instructions, and post-care management, involving families as appropriate.
• Administer medications, including IV fluids and drips, ensuring proper calculation, preparation, and monitoring, within scope.

Qualifications:

• Current Wyoming RN licensure with a minimum of 2 years' experience in acute or surgical care.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required; TNCC preferred within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of perioperative nursing, aseptic technique, and infection control principles.
• Ability to perform effectively under stress, communicate clearly, and provide compassionate patient care.
• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and adheres to ethical standards and hospital policies.
