Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients within a 20-bed Observation Unit. Monitor, assess, and coordinate patient care needs, ensuring compliance with hospital standards and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, including blood products and IV therapies, following hospital protocols.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, utilizing cardiac telemetry and PCU/Stepdown experience.
• Monitor patient status through telemetry, documenting findings accurately in Cerner system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to determine patient disposition and provide education.
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and peripheral lines, ensuring proper care and documentation.
• Respond to patient emergencies, including CVA, seizure, and substance withdrawal episodes.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Maryland or Compact RN license at the time of submission.
• Possess at least 2 years of RN experience, preferably in a community hospital setting.
• Demonstrate strong dysrhythmia management and cardiac telemetry skills.
• Have experience with blood product administration and line management.
• Be proficient in Cerner charting system and capable of interpreting advanced EKG assessments.
• Certified in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale, with 4 hours of annual stroke CE credits.
