Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room provides advanced perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. The role involves collaborating with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and prepare patients for surgical procedures by assessing their needs and ensuring proper documentation.
• Assist surgeons and surgical teams during procedures by providing necessary instruments and support.
• Maintain sterile techniques and ensure the operating environment adheres to infection control standards.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond promptly to any intraoperative changes or emergencies.
• Document all perioperative care activities accurately in the EMR system.
• Float to additional surgical centers as needed to support staffing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license and BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Have a minimum of 3 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Epic EMR or similar electronic medical records.
• Possess experience with Robotic surgery, Neuro, and Orthopedic procedures preferred.
• Be flexible with scheduling, including rotating call shifts, weekends, and holidays.
