Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 40-bed PCU/Stepdown unit. The role involves managing complex patient conditions, interpreting telemetry rhythms, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, MI, stroke, and sepsis.
• Interpret and document cardiac rhythms, including managing non-titratable cardiac drips like Amiodarone, Diltiazem, and Lasix.
• Administer and monitor non-titratable drips, Heparin protocols, and manage chest tubes with Emerson/Pleur-Evac systems.
• Collaborate with the Code Team as recorder and timekeeper during emergency responses.
• Float to non-telemetry units as needed, maintaining flexibility with patient ratios and scope of practice.
• Maintain compliance with certification requirements, including ACLS, BLS, NIH, and stroke CE participation.

Qualifications:

• Valid Maryland or Compact RN license required upon submission.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in PCU, Stepdown, Med-Surg, or Telemetry.
• Demonstrated proficiency in EKG interpretation, rhythm documentation, and managing cardiac drips.
• Strong clinical skills in managing CVA (stroke) patients and using telemetry monitoring systems.
• Certified in ACLS, BLS, NIH, and completion of Prophecy Relias Advanced EKG assessment.
• Experience with procedures such as peritoneal dialysis and chest tube management.
