Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU) provides specialized nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions requiring monitoring and advanced interventions. This role involves delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a fast-paced, trauma-designated unit.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor cardiac and overall patient conditions using specialized equipment such as EKG machines, pulse oximeters, and glucometers.
• Administer medications and perform procedures including Foley and NGT insertions, wound care, and bladder scanning.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care plans.
• Document patient information precisely in the Meditech EMR system, maintaining compliance with policies.
• Respond promptly to patient changes, providing critical interventions to ensure safety and recovery.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current registration.
• Minimum of 1 year of ICU or PCU experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Prefer candidates with PCCN, TNCC, or TCAR certifications.
• Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude to thrive in a dynamic environment.
