Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to high-risk obstetric patients in a hospital labor and delivery unit during night shifts. Ensure patient safety through continuous monitoring and timely intervention.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor high-risk antepartum patients, identifying changes in fetal and maternal health.
• Administer medications, including IV therapies and pain management, following protocols.
• Utilize fetal monitoring equipment to evaluate fetal well-being and record findings accurately.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on labor progress, treatment options, and postpartum care.
• Maintain compliance with licensing, certification, and hospital policies, including safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications:

• Hold a permanent Ohio RN license or a valid compact state RN license in hand at submission.
• Possess a minimum of 12 months of current, permanent labor and delivery experience.
• Be certified in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Basic Fetal Monitoring, active and current.
• Demonstrate understanding of high-risk antepartum care, including conditions like preeclampsia, preterm labor, and placental issues.
• Complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments with acceptable scores on the first attempt.
• Provide a reference from a manager, supervisor, or director in the specialty within the past 12 months.
