Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides specialized maternal and neonatal care, ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and newborns throughout the childbirth process. The role involves assessing patient conditions, supporting physicians, and delivering evidence-based nursing interventions to promote positive outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate maternal and neonatal patient conditions and document findings accurately.
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and postpartum procedures, including instrumental deliveries and C-sections.
• Implement individualized care plans based on assessments, patient needs, and clinical priorities.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions such as phlebotomy, IV insertions, and fetal monitoring including EFM.
• Advocate for evidence-based practices, supporting continuous improvement in care delivery.
• Manage patient care, ensuring compliance with standards of practice and patient safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Current NJ State Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM certifications required; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery; 4+ years preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy, IV insertion, and obstetric procedures.
• Strong assessment, documentation, and patient advocacy skills.
