Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to obstetric patients in a labor and delivery setting, supporting childbirth processes and postpartum recovery. Ensure patient safety, comfort, and adherence to clinical protocols during assigned shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, including OB-specific treatments, and monitor fetal and maternal vital signs.
• Perform procedures such as epidural placements, vaginal exams, and assist with cesarean sections.
• Document patient care accurately in Meditech and Centricity systems.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients on labor processes, postpartum care, and pain management techniques.
• Monitor and respond to obstetric emergencies, managing common complications and ensuring safety.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN licensure with relevant certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience.
• Possess proficiency in IV insertion, lab draws, and OB medication administration.
• Have experience with fetal strip interpretation, epidural placement, and C-section assistance.
• Show familiarity with obstetric equipment, such as Monica Novii monitors and GE EFM.
• Exhibit teamwork and excellent communication skills, including courtesy and respect for patients.
