Job Summary:
Performs a broad range of clinical laboratory tests on biological specimens, ensuring accurate results while maintaining confidentiality and lab safety protocols. Provides supervision and training to laboratory support staff as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts clinical laboratory tests including chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank, and serology using established procedures.
• Reviews, evaluates, and documents test results, ensuring accuracy and validity.
• Prepares and handles specimens, including collection, labeling, preservation, and transportation.
• Implements quality control measures, monitors test performance, and troubleshoots technical issues.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, safety standards, and lab regulations to protect patient confidentiality and laboratory integrity.
• Communicates critical results promptly and correlates findings with diagnoses to guide clinical decisions.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or related field.
• Possess a valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license in the state of California.
• Maintain current certification from ASCP or NCA.
• Have at least two years of recent experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Be BLS certified and hold a current nursing license per state requirements.
• Demonstrate proficiency in EPIC laboratory information systems.
