Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery provides comprehensive maternal and neonatal care, ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and infants throughout the birthing process. The role involves acting as a Charge Nurse, transitioning patients, and floating to other departments as needed to support hospital operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ needs and implement individualized care plans for labor, delivery, and postpartum patients.
• Act as a Charge Nurse, providing leadership and oversight to nursing staff during shifts.
• Transition patients effectively, ensuring seamless care continuity during shift changes.
• Float to other departments as a safety companion, supporting cross-departmental needs.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and execute patient education and discharge planning.
• Maintain compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Montana Registered Nurse licensure.
• Possess current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Be STABLE and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certified, with recertification every 2 years.
• Demonstrate experience in Labor & Delivery, including antepartum, intrapartum, pre-op, circulating, and PACU.
• Show competency in acute maternal and neonatal care, with the ability to manage complex situations.
• Exhibit strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
