Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care in a critical care step-down unit, focusing on adult patients requiring intermediate or advanced monitoring and support. Ensure patient safety and deliver evidence-based interventions under multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor medications, IV therapies, and titrated infusions, ensuring strict adherence to protocols.
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, utilizing telemetry and continuous pulse oximetry.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations, activating rapid response or code teams as needed.
• Provide airway management using non-invasive techniques such as nasal cannula, oxygen masks, and portable oxygen tanks.
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and maintain a vigilant, compassionate approach to patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an NY RN license in hand, with at least 1 year of recent adult ICU or step-down experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in EPIC charting and cardiac monitoring.
• Possess BLS and NIHSS certifications; NIHSS to be included in submittal.
• Be able to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio, demonstrating multitasking and critical thinking skills.
• Willing to float across units, depending on patient needs.
• Must be within a 75-mile radius of the facility if local.
