Job Description
Job Summary:
Provide specialized occupational therapy services to outpatients and inpatients across two facilities, ensuring high-quality patient care and functional improvement. The role requires independence in caseload management, proficiency in therapeutic techniques, and coordination with medical teams.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat patients with conditions affecting the elbow, wrist, hand, shoulder, and post-surgical injuries.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing therapeutic modalities and custom or prefabricated splints.
- Manage outpatient caseload independently, including assessments, therapy sessions, and patient education.
- Provide inpatient coverage for critical access swing and medical surgical units, ensuring continuity of care.
- Document patient progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate treatment outcomes to clinical teams.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain current certifications and licenses.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years current occupational therapy experience; no new grads accepted.
- Demonstrated expertise in outpatient management, including splint fabrication and fitting.
- Experience with inpatient care in a critical access hospital setting preferred.
- Valid state occupational therapy license and active BLS certification required.
- Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
