Job Summary:
Provides technical support in the pharmacy by accurately compounding and dispensing medications under supervision, ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards. Responsible for maintaining efficient pharmacy operations and assisting licensed pharmacists with daily tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense medications in accordance with physician prescriptions and regulatory requirements.
• Verify prescription information for accuracy and appropriateness before dispensing.
• Maintain proper documentation and record-keeping in compliance with HIPAA and federal regulations.
• Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies and monitoring expiration dates.
• Operate pharmacy equipment such as compounding tools, computers, and dispensing systems.
• Follow safety protocols to minimize exposure to blood and body fluids, and ensure a clean environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold a certification of completion from a recognized pharmacy technician training program.
• Possess current California Board of Pharmacy Technician registration.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Show strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Provide at least two years of recent pharmacy experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Maintain current BLS certification and a valid nursing license if applicable.
