Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive bedside nursing care to surgical patients in a high-acuity setting. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in coordination with medical staff.
• Administer medications, change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs following protocols.
• Monitor patient vitals, interpret measurements, and report adverse reactions promptly.
• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-operative care.
• Maintain accurate medical records, charts, and documentation of patient progress.
• Ensure compliance with nursing standards and hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold an Associates Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Possess a valid New York State RN License with primary source verification.
• Have a minimum of two years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital within the past year.
• Demonstrate skills in medication administration, wound care, infection control, IV therapy, and telemetry monitoring.
• Certified in AHA BLS; ACLS certification required for Queens only.
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred.
