Job Details

Job Summary:
Assists in surgical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining sterile environments, and supporting surgeons during operations. Ensures efficient operation room turnover and proper handling of instruments and supplies.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients and operating rooms for surgical procedures.
• Assemble, set up, and dismantle surgical instruments and equipment.
• Assist surgeons with gowning, gloving, and passing instruments.
• Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sutures, and sponges throughout procedures.
• Handle and care for surgical specimens following established protocols.
• Decontaminate instruments and supplies to ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited OR technician program or applicable military experience.
• Successful completion of the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) exam through NBSTSA or NCCT preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of 6 months of surgical technology experience or equivalent training.
