Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nutritional care to patients and residents with special needs or nutritional risk. Conducts assessments, develops care plans, educates patients and families, and collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure effective nutritional interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed nutritional assessments to identify patients at nutritional risk.
• Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on patient needs.
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to nutritional interventions, adjusting plans as necessary.
• Educate patients, families, and healthcare team members on nutritional requirements and education.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in accordance with policies.
• Supervise and mentor nutrition staff, interns, and assistive personnel, providing orientation and training.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Food and Nutrition or equivalent; Master’s Degree required if eligibility for examination begins on or after 01/01/2024.
• Possess current registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) within 6 months of residency completion.
• Have at least two years of recent clinical dietetics experience.
• Maintain a current BLS certification and a valid nursing license per state requirements if applicable.
• Demonstrate strong clinical decision-making, assessment, and communication skills.
