Job Summary:
The PACU Registered Nurse provides specialized care to post-anesthesia patients, monitoring recovery and ensuring patient stability until discharge or transfer. The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate safe and efficient postoperative recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patients' vital signs, EKG readings, and overall condition during recovery.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to evaluate patient progress and determine readiness for discharge or transfer.
• Manage equipment such as vents, Cpap, and BiPap, ensuring proper setup and operation.
• Document patient data accurately in the EMR system and communicate updates to relevant team members.
• Provide support to ICU patients recovering in PACU or held overnight, following established procedures.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Previous PACU, ICU, or ED experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to read EKGs and interpret patient monitors.
• Knowledge of EMR systems, specifically Epic.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
