Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in PACU provides postoperative care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. This role involves monitoring patient vitals, managing pain, and ensuring safe recovery to facilitate discharge or transfer.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' immediate postoperative condition and vital signs regularly.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the medical team.
• Monitor for signs of complications or adverse reactions and intervene promptly.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and execute individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on recovery processes, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Document patient status, interventions, and progress accurately within the electronic health record.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Demonstrate proficiency in post-anesthesia care and vital sign monitoring.
• Possess BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
• Have prior PACU or acute care experience, with specialized training such as neonatal resuscitation or fetal monitoring as applicable.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
