Job Description

Job Summary:
A Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using nuclear medicine techniques. They operate specialized equipment, ensure patient safety, and adhere to regulatory standards to deliver accurate imaging results.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures including Hida Scan, Gastric emptying, and Stress Tests.
  • Operate GE Infinia and GE Discovery imaging equipment in accordance with protocols.
  • Ensure patient safety by following proper radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within EMR systems such as Meditech Magic/Expanse, Merge Cardio, Cardinal Health, and Xcelaris.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to deliver quality patient care and communicate effectively.
  • Follow unit policies, protocols, and JCAHO standards to uphold regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Hold current NMTCB or ARRT (NM) certification.
  • Possess TMB licensure to practice in the state of Texas.
  • Demonstrate understanding of JCAHO standards and regulations.
  • Have at least 1 year of nuclear medicine technologist experience.
  • Be able to work solo during shifts and handle on-call responsibilities.
  • Exhibit strong communication and teamwork skills with a self-starter attitude.
