Job Summary:
Provide specialized neuro care to patients in a busy hospital unit, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through expert nursing practices. Responsible for monitoring neurological patients, administering treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

• Assess neurological patients and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and manage titratable drips following physician’s orders.
• Monitor and document patient status using telemetry equipment and EPIC electronic health records.
• Collaborate with RTs and physicians to manage ventilator settings and neurological devices.
• Educate patients and families on neurological diagnoses and post-op care.
• Maintain required certifications such as BLS, NIHSS, and ACLS, and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license and minimum of strong neuro experience.
• Current BLS, NIHSS, with ACLS preferred; NIHSS must be in hand at submission.
• Proficiency in EPIC and experience with neuro patient protocols.
• Ability to manage complex neurological conditions including seizures, stroke, and post-op spinal patients.
• Strong assessment skills and knowledge of titratable drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, and Insulin.
• Flexibility to float to different units, including 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E as needed.
