Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse for Infusion Services provides specialized nursing care to infusion patients, ensuring safe and effective delivery of therapies. This role involves coordinating patient treatments, administering medications, and collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to infusion patients, including assessment, planning, and execution of treatment plans.
• Administer specialty IV fluids, including through peripheral or central lines, following physician orders and safety protocols.
• Monitor and document patient responses to treatments, reactions, and side effects, communicating findings to the healthcare team.
• Coordinate and oversee patient referrals, testing, and scheduling to ensure seamless infusion services.
• Educate patients and families on post-discharge care and infusion procedures, ensuring understanding and compliance.
• Supervise and guide clinic staff to maintain efficient patient flow and resource utilization.

Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or another U.S. state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; active Alaska license prior to start date.
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience; specialty experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of nursing procedures, medication administration, and disease processes.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to operate infusion pumps, monitors, and electronic health record systems independently.
