Job Summary:
The Infusion RN provides specialized nursing care in the infusion therapy department, focusing on administering IV therapies, blood transfusions, and chemotherapeutic agents while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The role involves assessment, education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including psychosocial and cultural factors affecting care.
• Initiate IV access via central venous devices or peripheral sites and administer medications and blood products as ordered.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medication administration, and follow-up procedures.
• Monitor and evaluate patients' responses to infusions, adjusting care plans accordingly.
• Document medical histories, assessments, and treatment details accurately and timely in medical records.
• Adhere to safety standards and protocols, including handling of antineoplastic agents and use of specialized equipment.

Qualifications:

• Current IL RN license required.
• Maintain BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
• Certified in Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy through Oncology Nurse Society (ONS/ONCC) required.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably with infusion or chemotherapy.
• Demonstrate strong computer skills with proficiency in EMR systems.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently within a team environment.
