Job Description
Job Summary:
The Nuclear Med Tech is responsible for performing diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures to assist physicians in patient diagnosis. The role involves preparing patients, operating specialized equipment, and ensuring safety standards are upheld throughout each procedure.
Responsibilities:
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures and related techniques to produce diagnostic images.
- Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring they meet the necessary requirements for accurate results.
- Operate nuclear medicine equipment and associated systems to obtain high-quality images.
- Inject radioactive isotopes and manage venipuncture to establish venous access.
- Evaluate image quality and data accuracy, documenting all findings and safety incidents.
- Assist with medical record management, including archiving and submitting images for interpretation.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nuclear medicine program with verification required.
- Certification as CNMT or ARRT(N) is mandatory.
- Valid AHA BLS certification.
- Demonstrate experience with nuclear medicine procedures and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in using PACS, radiology information systems, and digital data processing.
- Strong communication skills to instruct patients and coordinate with team members.
