Job Description
Job Summary:
The Echo/Ultrasound/Sonographer will operate advanced ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images for medical evaluation. They will ensure accurate imaging, proper patient positioning, and effective communication with radiologists for optimal results.
Responsibilities:
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images of various anatomical regions.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and positioning them appropriately.
- Collaborate with radiologists to review images and discuss findings before patient discharge.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with Clinical Engineering for repairs.
- Verify patient identity and review clinical history to ensure appropriate imaging.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures within patient records, adhering to HIPAA standards.
Qualifications:
- Certified or credentialed as a Sonographer or Ultrasound Technologist.
- Proven experience with ultrasound imaging and ability to produce diagnostic-quality images.
- Knowledge of PACS systems, EPIC, and high-level disinfection protocols.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients.
- Ability to troubleshoot ultrasound machines and handle technical issues efficiently.
- Willingness to work within 50 miles of the facility for a lower local rate.
