Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical unit, ensuring safety, comfort, and effective treatment across all age groups. Collaborates with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions upon admission and conduct ongoing re-assessments every 24 hours.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on nursing practice standards and patient needs.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interpret diagnostic tests accurately.
• Educate patients and their families about procedures, treatments, and health management.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.
• Manage behavioral health patients and utilize therapeutic communication techniques as needed.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an NLN-accredited nursing program.
• Valid and current Alaska Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats.
• Proficient in medical terminology and nursing process management.
• Experience caring for pediatric and adult patients preferred.
