Job Description
Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery RN provides specialized patient care to women during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. They ensure safe, efficient birthing experiences while managing high-risk and normal pregnancies efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess maternal and fetal health throughout labor and delivery.
- Administer medications and titrate drips such as mag, pit, and insulin as required.
- Circulate in the OR during procedures, supporting surgical teams and patient care.
- Document patient progress accurately using EPIC charting system.
- Respond promptly to neonatal and obstetric emergencies, collaborating with OB, neonatologists, and other team members.
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and patient education regarding postpartum and newborn care.
Qualifications:
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of recent L&D nursing experience outside of training.
- Have at least 3 travel assignments with proven adaptability to different clinical settings.
- Be proficient in EPIC charting systems and comfortable circulating in the OR (scrubbing experience is a plus).
- Hold current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, and AWHONN specialty credentials.
- Demonstrate experience with LDRP and MBC patient care.
- Be able to titrate and manage titratable drips as needed.
