Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to adult patients, primarily handling post-adult populations with minimal pediatric cases. The role includes supervision of clinical staff and ensuring adherence to hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and deliver respiratory treatments to patients according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned respiratory staff members.
• Interpret patient data and communicate findings effectively to multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, procedures, and outcomes.
• Stay current with hospital policies, departmental procedures, and industry standards.
• Ensure compliance with vaccination requirements and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an NBRC-accredited Respiratory Care program or active AARCB member.
• Possess an active Virginia Respiratory Therapy license.
• Hold current BLS and ACLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Certified as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• Minimum of two years of recent Respiratory Therapy experience.
• Ability to work day shifts, 3x12 hours, with flexibility for holidays and on-call shifts.
