Job Summary:
The Medical Laboratory Technician - Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for performing specimen processing, testing, and reporting of laboratory results to support patient diagnostics and care. The role involves working in a hospital laboratory environment with various specialty tests and adhering to regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough specimen processing, analysis, and accurate documentation of test results.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Operate and calibrate laboratory instruments across multiple sub-specialties, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy.
• Rotate shifts, including day, evening, or night, and work weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate lab results to support diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain laboratory safety standards and properly handle hazardous materials.

Qualifications:

• Hold Medical Laboratory Technician certification from a recognized national agency or a baccalaureate degree in medical laboratory science with 48 semester hours in relevant coursework.
• Complete an official military medical laboratory procedures course or equivalent education adhering to national accreditation standards.
• Demonstrate at least six months of bench laboratory experience in specialties such as blood bank, microbiology, chemistry, or hematology.
• Maintain valid certification or licensure in good standing, obtained within 18 months of employment.
• Possess strong attention to detail and analytical skills to support accurate testing.
