Job Summary:

Monitor Tech provides continuous patient monitoring, primarily EKG, and supports timely escalation of abnormal findings to the clinical team. This role ensures monitoring equipment is correctly applied, functioning properly, and documented according to established protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor EKG and vital sign trends to identify clinically significant changes.
• Troubleshoot monitoring equipment issues and escalate promptly to the appropriate team.
• Apply and maintain electrodes and related monitoring components with attention to patient comfort and skin integrity.
• Document monitoring status, alarms, and pertinent patient responses per facility standards.
• Respond to alert conditions by notifying clinicians and assisting with urgent care needs as directed.
• Maintain infection control practices and perform basic equipment readiness checks.

Qualifications:

• Hold current BLS certification and be prepared to maintain required advanced certifications (ACLS, PALS) as applicable.
• Maintain active NRP certification and/or other required credentials for the role.
• Complete and provide verification for non-negotiable credentialing requirements prior to start.
• Submit proof of MMR and varicella vaccination or accepted declination documentation.
• Obtain drug screen clearance (pending results permitted for start) and complete background screening verification.
• Demonstrate competence in EKG monitoring and understanding of common rhythm and alarm triggers.
