Job Description

Job Summary:

Registered Nurse (Labor and Delivery) provides safe, family-centered care to patients during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum needs. The role supports effective fetal monitoring, timely escalation of clinical concerns, and compassionate coordination with the care team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess laboring patients and continuously monitor maternal status and fetal heart rate using EFM practices.
  • Administer medications and execute care plans in accordance with unit protocols.
  • Anticipate and assist with delivery procedures, including stabilization of patients as needed.
  • Perform triage duties and escalate abnormal findings promptly to the supervising provider.
  • Educate patients and families on the labor process, interventions, and postpartum expectations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure charting is completed in a timely, compliant manner.

Qualifications:

  • Hold an active Registered Nurse license.
  • Maintain NRP certification.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with EFM.
  • Offer 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience (preferred 3+ years).
  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to respond quickly to changing patient conditions.
  • Complete required pre-start and annual compliance modules (e.g., via the facility learning portal).
