Job Summary:

The PCU /Registered Nurse provides high-acuity nursing care for patients in an intermediate care/stepdown setting. This role supports safe clinical outcomes through continuous monitoring, evidence-based interventions, and strong coordination with the care team during overnight shifts.

Responsibilities:

• Provide bedside assessment, monitoring, and timely intervention for patients in IMC/PCU/Stepdown units.
• Administer medications and perform treatments according to established clinical protocols.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC, including nursing notes, vitals trends, and care plan updates.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
• Manage patient care needs during shift handoff, including escalation of abnormal changes.
• Ensure compliance with BLS/ACLS and NIH-related safety practices throughout patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license with eligibility to practice in SC at time of submission (no pending licenses).
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Hold NIH certification (if required for this role).
• Bring at least 1 year of relevant inpatient experience in IMC/PCU/Stepdown settings.
• Demonstrate proficiency documenting in EPIC or comparable electronic health record systems.
• Provide two supervisory references.
