Job Description
Job Summary:
The Director of Labor & Delivery is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the clinical operations, staff development, and quality initiatives within the Labor & Delivery department. The position ensures the delivery of safe, compassionate, and high-quality care to mothers, newborns, and families.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Labor & Delivery department.
- Lead and support nursing and clinical staff through recruitment, mentorship, and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards.
- Monitor departmental performance and spearhead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, neonatal teams, and hospital leadership to support integrated care and departmental objectives.
- Manage departmental resources, staffing, and budgeting to maintain efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or ability to obtain.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience in Labor & Delivery.
- At least 5 years of progressive leadership or management experience in healthcare.
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required; additional maternal or neonatal certifications preferred.
