Job Description
Job Summary:
Provides skilled rehabilitative services to patients under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Focuses on improving patients' physical functioning through evidence-based interventions and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Administer evidence-based treatment interventions such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of assistive devices.
- Assess patient progress regularly and communicate with supervising Physical Therapist to modify treatment plans accordingly.
- Document all clinical activities, including treatment minutes, patient responses, and progress notes in electronic health records.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, and families to support optimal recovery and discharge planning.
- Support and supervise students under the guidance of the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Comply with all regulatory practices, including licensure, documentation requirements, and ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active State Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Possess a minimum of 1 year of PTA experience, preferably in LTC or rehab settings.
- Demonstrate proficiency in clinical documentation and patient care procedures.
- Have excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration and patient counseling.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Adhere to the APTA and state-specific practice acts, ethics, and professional conduct guidelines.
