Job Description
Job Summary:
Provide clinical nutrition support, care, and education to patients and staff, ensuring optimal nutritional outcomes. Deliver individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy and participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to promote health and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct and document nutrition assessments and reassessments on assigned units.
- Evaluate and recommend nutrition interventions, providing follow-up for continuity of care.
- Counsel patients and families on nutrition principles, modifications, and food choices, tailoring plans to individual lifestyles.
- Communicate nutrition care data through patient medical records, utilizing standardized language and documentation protocols.
- Assist in maintaining and updating diet manuals, policies, and educational materials, supporting quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate in staff and community education, in-service programs, and ongoing professional development related to nutrition care.
Qualifications:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Food & Nutrition or Dietetics.
- Complete or be enrolled in an accredited dietetic internship or master's program with relevant work experience.
- Possess at least 1 year of inpatient clinical nutrition experience.
- Maintain or obtain Oregon Food Handler, Food Manager, or ServSafe certification.
- Hold or be eligible for state licensure as a Dietitian/Nutritionist.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current clinical nutrition research and standards of care.
