Job Description
Job Summary:
The Certified Medical Assistant performs clinical support procedures under the supervision of the Office Nurse or Physician in an outpatient setting. The role involves direct patient care, assisting with examinations, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws, injections, child immunizations, lab tests, and other procedures within certification scope.
- Assist physicians during examinations by taking vital signs and providing necessary support.
- Keep exam rooms clean, stocked with supplies, and ready for patient appointments.
- Requisition supplies as needed and maintain accurate medical records, including referrals and lab slips.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providing instructions and following up on their needs.
- Support nursing procedures as directed by the Physician and assist with patient transportation within the facility.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of formal Medical Assistant training or certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical environment.
- Valid Medical Assistant certification and BLS (AHA) certification.
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and ability to handle stressful situations with discretion.
