Job Summary:
The Interventional Radiology Nurse is a registered professional nurse responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals undergoing interventional radiology procedures. This role involves assessing patient needs, coordinating care, and ensuring safety and comfort throughout the patient’s treatment process.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures, following evidence-based standards.
• Assess and evaluate patient conditions, vital signs, and procedural readiness, utilizing clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, post-care instructions, and health promotion strategies.
• Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families to ensure a positive care experience.
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Hold a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in interventional radiology or special procedures preferred.
• Be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Have experience with EPIC electronic medical record system highly preferred.
• Demonstrate excellent clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred; associate degree considered with relevant experience or active BSN enrollment.
