Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical provides direct patient care to a diverse adult patient population, managing common diagnoses such as pneumonia, UTI, AMS, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, and falls. This role requires collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective nursing practices.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications, including titratable drips like heparin, bumex, and lasix, adhering to protocols and patient needs.
• Monitor and assess vital signs, perform blood glucose tests, conduct EKGs, and apply heart monitors.
• Provide basic patient care duties such as bathing, feeding, toileting, turning, and positioning patients.
• Respond to emergencies, troubleshoot respiratory equipment, and assist RT with high-flow oxygen, CPAP, BiPAP, and inhalers.
• Document patient observations accurately and communicate changes to the healthcare team.
• Assist with patient education and support during shifts to promote recovery and safety.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license required, with BLS certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted.
• Ability to titrate drips with exceptions; knowledge of common titratable infusions preferred.
• Strong assessment skills, with proficiency in vital signs, EKGs, and basic patient care procedures.
• Capable of working flexible hours, including rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and troubleshooting respiratory equipment a plus.
