Job Summary:
A Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing specialized respiratory care to adult inpatients, with occasional pediatric cases, in a hospital setting. The role involves managing ventilators, performing ABGs, EKGs, and assisting with intubations, ensuring optimal patient breathing support across various inpatient units.

Responsibilities:

• Administer breathing treatments, manage ventilators, and monitor patient respiratory status.
• Draw and analyze ABGs, perform EKGs for inpatient and outpatient areas.
• Assist in intubation procedures and oversee ventilator management, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Support adult and pediatric patients in ICU, ED, and other inpatient units, covering as needed.
• Collaborate with the respiratory team and supervisors to ensure quality care and appropriate patient management.

Qualifications:

• Possess valid NBRC CRT or RRT certification; ACLS, BLS, and NRP preferred.
• Have experience working in ER, ICU, and adult inpatient respiratory care settings.
• Be willing to train on pediatric respiratory procedures.
• Demonstrate proficiency with ventilator brands such as Puritan Bennett 840 and Hamilton C1.
• Ability to assist in intubation and operate respiratory equipment independently.
