Job Summary:

Provides specialized nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), utilizing critical care skills to monitor and manage high-acuity cases. Serves as a nurse educator to enhance staff competency and ensure adherence to clinical standards.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted clinical education to nursing staff, travelers, and interdisciplinary team members to promote best practices.
• Conduct unit-based rounding, provide real-time coaching, and reinforce clinical competencies.
• Validate staff understanding and competencies through assessments and observations.
• Document all educational activities accurately and support timely completion tracking.
• Support flexible scheduling, including day, night, and weekend shifts, to meet unit staffing needs.
• Collaborate with educators and leadership to address competency gaps and facilitate targeted re-education efforts.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current RN license with at least 2 years of ICU or PCU experience.
• Demonstrate strong communication, coaching, and teaching abilities.
• Have experience in clinical education, competency validation, and staff mentoring.
• Familiarity with education tracking tools, LMS platforms, and competency checklists.
• Possess knowledge of high-risk patient care, safety initiatives, and regulatory standards.
